Ambassador for Cultural Heritage

Zahi Hawass was appointed as Ambassador for Peace Cultural Heritage by the International Federation for Peace and Sustainable Development (IFPSD), an affiliate organization to the United Nations. The ceremony was held at the UN Headquarters in New York City, on April 19th. The President of IFPSD. Ms. Sally Kader, hosted the event, which was attended by an esteemed group of UN Ambassadors and prestigious public and governmental figures from all over the world. The appointment came in light of Dr. Hawass’s ideas and plans for protecting the endangered cultural heritage in Syria, Iraq, Libya, and Yemen.
