On October 21st, Telemed Foundation held a gala and fundraising dinner in Newport Beach to raise awareness and donations to purchase much needed medical equipment for Abu El-Reesh Children Hospital. Dr. Zahi Hawass was named “Man of the Year” at the event for his contributions to the cultural sector and his philanthropic activities. The title was previously awarded to the esteemed surgeon, Sir Dr. Magdy Yacoub. Dr. Adel ElDahmy, founder of Telemed Foundation, succeeded in holding an incredible event attended by our Egyptian Minister of Immigration, Nabila Makram. She gave an inspiring speech about Egyptian will power and strength in facing these difficult times. Hawass then gave a one-hour lecture about the latest archaeological discoveries. More than 300,000 USD were collected in donations and will be given to Abu El-Reesh Children Hospital in Egypt.
