Dr. Zahi Hawass visited some of the most important archaeological sites at Saudi Arabia, including Jabal Umm Sinman at Jubbah, a World Heritage Site. It is a magnificent rock art site and contains some of the earliest Thamudian writings etched on the cliffs, in addition to Neolithic rock art. The one-week visit included a meeting with Prince Sultan bin Salman Al Saud, and a tour with Dr. Jasir Al-Herbish the CEO of the Saudi Heritage Commission, which is directed by Prince Badr bin Farhan Al Saud, the Saudi Minister of Culture, and Dr. Abdalla Almuneef, the Dean of the Faculty of Tourism and Antiquities in King Saud University.
