From A Secret Voyage by Zahi Hawass and Sandro Vannini

Canopic coffinette, from the Funerary Equipment of Tutankhamun – New Kingdom, 18th Dynasty – From Western Thebes, Valley of the Kings, Tomb 62 – (carter 266g), Cairo, Egyptian Museum – This is a miniature version of the royal coffins containing the embalmed and wrapped viscera of the King. It takes the form of the mummiform figure of the King wearing the nemes headcloth with the cobra of the north and the vulture of the south. On the chin is the curled beard of divinity. The hands grasp a crook and a flail, symbols of royal authority. On the sides are figures of Wadjet and Nekhbet as birds. The goddesses hold shen rings in their talons. These coffinettes are adorned in order to look as if they are covered with feathers (rishi style).
