Earring of Tawosret – Reign of Seti II, New Kingdom, 19th Dynasty – From Western Thebes, Valley of the Kings, Tomb 56 – Cairo, Egyptian Museum – Usually the Nubian enemies depicted on the walls of Egyptian temples wear earrings. The Hyksos introduced the earrings to Egypt in the second Intermediate Period. This earring carries the cartouche of King Seti II; it is made of gold and was found in tomb KV 56 in the Valley of the Kings.
