Relief in the Temple of Hatshepsut, New Kingdom, 18th Dynasty – Western Thebes, Deir el-Bahri – This fish has two horns or tentacles above the eyes and long back, breast and pelvic fins. The pair of horns over the eyes are the only recurring feature of this family – all other characteristics are different. In the Scorpaenidae (scorpion fish) family, there are representatives with nodules or growths on the chin and brow.
