Painting from the Tomb of Inherkhau – Ramesside Period, New Kingdom, 19th Dynasty – Theban Tomb 359, Western Thebes, Deir el-Medina – Inherkhau was the ‘Foreman of the Lord of the Two Lands in the Place of Truth’. This scene from his tomb in Deir el-Medina shows Inherkhau and his wife seated, receiving offerings (ushabtis box and libation vase) from their two sons wearing long kilts. Inherkhau and his wife are dressed in the fine dresses typical of the Ramesside period. They are surrounded by four grandchildren, depicted naked with a side-lock of youth, one boy and three girls who hold birds in their hands.
