Funerary mask of Yuya, from the Funerary Equipment of Yuya and Tuya, Parents of Queen Tiye – 18th Dynasty – From Western Thebes, Valley of the Kings, Tomb KV 46 – Cairo, Egyptian Museum – Theodore M. Davis found the tomb KV 46 of Yuya in 1905 in the Valley of the Kings. Yuya held many titles: he was advisor of King Amenhotep III and came to Luxor from a powerful family from Akhmim. He is the father of Queen Tiye, wife of King Amenhotep III. The Yuya collection was the most famous collection in the Egyptian Museum before the discovery of the tomb of King Tutankhamun.
