Painting from the Tomb of Nefertari, New Kingdom, 19th Dynasty – Queen’s Valley 66, Western Thebes, Valley of the Queens – Kneeling figure of the goddess Ma’at with her famous crown and the sign of the ostrich feather on her head. Her arms and wings are stretched out in the protective gesture. Ma’at was the goddess of justice, truth, and universal order, and a main focus of every King in Ancient Egypt.
